News Export Control Reform
Export Control Reform Print E-mail

The Obama Administration has recently launched the Export Control Reform Initiative (ECR Initiative), which will fundamentally reform the U.S. export control system. The ECR Initiative, which is not related to the President's National Export Initiative, is designed to enhance U.S. national security and strengthen the United States' ability to counter threats such as the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Each Wednesday, Assistant Secretary for Export Administration Kevin Wolf holds a weekly teleconference at 2:00pm (Eastern Time) to answer questions about the Department of Commerce's proposed rules pertaining to the Administration's Export Control Reform (ECR) initiative. These calls are intended to foster public understanding and to assist interested parties in preparing more informed comments. Click here to learn how to dial in and submit questions in advance.

Companies can also get extensive, in-depth insight at the Annual BIS Update Conference held in Washington, DC July 17-19.  Click here for details.
